During early game, If you are a whale, Garwood’s healing capabilities can be a game-changer. Garwood’s ability to maintain the health of your units is incredibly strong during the first stages of the game.

Yet, as the game advances and other players start to power up, Garwood might lose some of his initial shine, especially if you’re not on par with the leading players.

However, don’t be quick to take him off. The resilience Garwood brings to the table is impressive.

First Skill: His healing factor stands at 1200, reducing all damage your troops take by 20% for a solid 4 seconds. This stout character not only keeps your units in the battle but actually rejuvenates them.

Two scenarios can play out when in battle: your units either become severely wounded and are sent directly to the hospital, or they become slightly wounded. Despite being in your army, the slightly wounded units can’t fight anymore. And that’s where Garwood steps in, bringing those slightly wounded units back into the fray.

However, remember that once your units are severely wounded and admitted to the hospital, they can’t be revived mid-battle.

2nd Skill: When it comes to garrisoning, or defending cities or passes, Garwood’s second skill comes into play. Despite the limited situations that call for garrisoning in the game, Garwood’s garrison skill makes him very niche. But it’s a double-edged sword. As he heals troops and brings them back into the fight, he’s also subjecting them to more risk, which might not be a good strategy, particularly at the end of a fight.

Defending a city or stronghold using Garwood gives you an additional 10 % hit points, which can be quite beneficial if you’re fielding various troop tyoes. Be it infantry, marksman, cavalry, or mages, the added hit points can make a significant difference.

3rd Skill and 4th Skill: Garwood is all about healing and defense, especially with his third skill offering 20% defense for infantry and a 30% increase in received healing. The more you use this hero, the more healing opportunities you get, thus allowing you to boost damage. He may not be a heavy hitter, but Garwood can hold his own with regular attacks and counterattacks from the 4th skill buff.

Garwood’s awakening skill, triggered when all other skills are maxed out, adds another layer to his abilities. This skill enhances the active skill, providing an additional 200 healing factor and extending the damage taken buff by two seconds. Now your troops can enjoy six seconds of 20% damage reduction, which is quite the advantage.

In essence, if you’re an advanced player, Garwood is your go-to hero.

The minimal damage you’ll take from enemy hits coupled with substantial counterattack damage makes him a valuable asset. And the best part? He keeps your units healthy, enabling you to extract the maximum value from each skirmish.

So, are you ready to power up your game with Garwood?

Best Pairings for Garwood

hoskHosk is a solid choice. He enhances your tankiness by providing an extra 30 hit points. Plus, he boosts your attack and overall damage, making Garwood’s normal attack power significant. Garwood and Hosk make a formidable duo, no doubt.

madelineMadeline: Another strong pair could be Garwood and Madeline. Their combined healing and shielding abilities are robust. If you decide on this, choose a build that doesn’t limit the skill damage dealt. The duo’s enhanced hit points, counter attack damage, and troop numbers all offer massive advantages.

elianaEliana: Don’t underestimate Eliana. Her shielding ability is valuable when combined with Garwood’s healing. Her abilities lower normal attack damage taken and boost your defense by 30 percent when a rage skill is cast. Plus, Eliana’s Legion gets a 70% chance to receive healing when hit by a normal attack, thanks to her Awakening skill.

bakharBakhar: He’s a decent choice, enhancing the damage his unit deals for 4 seconds. This works best if he’s the primary hero, and your secondary hero also deals skill damage. Personally, I’m not a huge fan of pairing Bakhar with Garwood. I’d prefer a tankier option. Bakhar’s 10% defense is useful, but he’s more of a combatant rather than a defender. He pairs well with Nika, though.

nikaNika offers good skill damage and reduces enemy health, which is handy. However, she doesn’t really boost your defense. That said, she enhances hero skill damage, which Garwood isn’t known for. So, Nika’s strengths don’t align perfectly with Garwood’s. It’s better to use Nika with Bakhar.

theiaTheia, despite some aspects of her skills being irrelevant when paired with Garwood, she’s an fascinating choice. Her large shield and healing, coupled with reduced hero skill damage taken, make for potential infinite sustain. However, her bonuses related to flying infantry units aren’t much use with Garwood.

Moving on to artifacts, several options work well with Garwood and infantry.

If you’re pairing with Madeline, the Dragonscale Armor is a perfect choice.

If you’re on a budget, the dragonrift Dragonrift or springs of silence Springs of Silence are good picks.

For peacekeeping, the codex of prophecy Codex of Prophecy or butchers blade Butcher’s Blade would do well.

Two other notable artifacts are greymars warhammer Greymar’s Warhammer (stuns enemies and boosts infantry unit defense) and fang of ashkari Fang of Ashkari (defense and area damage).

Conclusion

In conclusion, Garwood’s strength lies in his potential for infinite healing, making him a tough opponent to beat. For this, you’ll need either high power or strong defense stats and talents.

Pair him with the right partner, choose suitable artifacts, and you’ll have a tanky, robust hero that can soak up damage while your other units dish out the hurt.
